Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs is a cause everyone can get behind, and we’re excited to have Collingwood AFL premiership hero Brayden Maynard on board as our new Ambassador!
With more than 200 AFL Premiership games under his belt for Collingwood, Brayden has established a reputation as one of the competition’s elite defenders and toughest competitors.
But there’s another side to Brayden! He’s an out-and-out dog person and a long-time supporter of Seeing Eye Dogs.
Brayden is a former volunteer with Seeing Eye Dogs and Simon, his Labrador, is a Seeing Eye Dog that underwent a career change. And while team allegiances run deep, Brayden knows just how important Seeing Eye Dogs are for people who are blind or have low vision and he wants everybody to get behind the work we do.
“I’m excited to be the new official Seeing Eye Dogs Ambassador. Seeing Eye Dogs make it possible for people who are blind or have low vision to be active and independent and that’s a cause everyone can get behind,” Brayden said.
“Make a difference and become a volunteer puppy carer today. To the see the impact Seeing Eye Dogs have on the lives of people who are blind or have low vision makes it so worthwhile.”
Seeing Eye Dogs manager for puppy development Jane Bradley said the organisation is excited to have Brayden as part of the Seeing Eye Dogs team.
“Brayden has been a long-time supporter of the work we do at Seeing Eye Dogs, having volunteered over the years and adopting his adorable lab, Simon, from us,” Jane said.
“He is one of many compassionate Aussies who play an integral role in the journey of a Seeing Eye Dog through volunteering. Without his generosity and the generosity of others, our puppies would not be able to receive the care they need before embarking on their training to become a fully-fledged Seeing Eye Dog.”
So, whether you barrack for Collingwood or anyone else, why not follow Brayden’s lead?
