About Uke
Uke is an affectionate, gentle, and empathetic dog who thrives in a calm and loving home. He has wonderful house manners, enjoys being around his people, and loves playing with toys—especially with children or other dogs. While he’s a big fan of cuddles and tummy rubs, he can be easily overwhelmed in new environments and needs reassurance outside the home. With a set routine and a confident handler, Uke will flourish as a loving companion.
Where I grew up
Uke grew up in a household with two adults and no other pets. He has learned to be independent at home and is trustworthy when left alone. If given the choice, he is happy to follow his people around, but if restricted, he may sometimes bark to join them.
A good fit for me is...
Uke would thrive in a home with children or another dog to play with and learn from. He benefits from a predictable routine and someone home most of the time to help build his confidence. A patient and reassuring owner who can gently encourage him in new environments will help him feel secure. He needs a family that understands his anxious tendencies outdoors and can provide calm guidance.
My personality traits
- Affectionate & Cuddly: Uke adores his people and enjoys snuggling up for attention.
- Calm & Gentle: He has a naturally sweet temperament and is great at home, showing independence and trustworthiness.
- Playful & Social at Home: He loves toys, enjoys soft nibbling, and gets excited when new people or dogs visit.
- Sensitive & Anxious in New Environments: Uke can be overwhelmed outside, particularly on walks, and may stop moving if he feels unsure. He needs encouragement and a patient handler to build his confidence.
- Working on Car Anxiety: Uke is still working on overcoming his anxiety around car travel. While he has made great progress and will now lie down in the back, he still hesitates to get in. His trainer will provide notes on how to best manage and support him through this.
- Prefers Open Spaces: Uke doesn’t like being crated or confined in small spaces.
- Jumpy with Greetings: He gets excited when visitors arrive and may jump up to say hello.
Uke is a truly special and loving dog who will thrive in the right environment. If you're looking for a sweet and cuddly companion who enjoys playtime and home comforts, and you’re willing to support him in building confidence outdoors and in the car, Uke could be the perfect addition to your family!
