About Prue

Prue is a smart, affectionate, and energetic young dog who is looking for her forever home. She is not continuing in the Seeing Eye Dogs training program but has many wonderful qualities that will make her a loving companion in the right home.

Prue is very sweet and loyal, enjoys being close to her people, and loves nothing more than curling up at your feet after a busy day. She is an intelligent dog who loves to learn, but she sometimes experiences “information overload,” which means she needs time, space, and support to regulate her emotions.

Where I grew up

Prue was raised in a household with two mature adults. She is used to being part of family life, spending time both at home and out on adventures. She has travelled regularly in the car, where she settles beautifully with her body/balance harness.

A good fit for me is...

Prue will thrive in an active and experienced home with someone who is physically capable of handling her strength when she gets overexcited. She needs a supportive carer willing to continue her training and give her positive outlets for her energy.

She is not suitable for a household with elderly people or small children, as she has a tendency to jump up or lunge when over-aroused and has knocked people over in her excitement. A home with a backyard, space to run, and opportunities for regular play will suit her best. She would love a family who can involve her in daily activities and give her the time she needs to settle and relax after exercise.

My personality traits

  • Sweet, affectionate, and loyal – loves to follow you everywhere.
  • Obedient and responsive to basic commands.
  • Very smart and eager to learn, but needs breaks to reset when overwhelmed.
  • Enjoys curling up quietly at your feet or lying near you while you work.
  • Travels well in the car and settles nicely in her crate.
  • Loves zoomies and rough, playful bursts of energy – she’ll need space for this.
  • Can alert you when someone comes to the door.
  • Quirky and endearing – occasionally collects socks if left lying around!
  • Empathetic and tuned in to her people – a good listener and very loving.
