About Griffin
Griffin is a sweet-natured, affectionate dog looking for his forever home. Originally part of the Seeing Eye Dogs program, he is now available for adoption due to not passing his required X-rays. Griffin has been diagnosed with Grade 2 elbow dysplasia he has never shown any symptoms or discomfort. With the right care, Griffin can enjoy a happy and active life with his new family!
Due to Giffins elbow diagnosis he will not be the kind of dog that can participate in agility training, go for long runs or play continuous games of fetch. Lower impact activities and weight management will help keep him comfortable. Griffin is likely to develop arthritic changes earlier than a dog with normal elbows.
Where I grew up
Griffin was raised in a single-adult household and have been well-socialized in various environments. He spent time in an office with his carer, so he is well accustomed to remaining calm indoor settings. While he didn’t grow up with other pets, he has had exposure to plenty of dogs and a cat.
A good fit for me is...
Griffin would thrive in a home where people are around and willing to interact with him—he’s a real companion dog! He is well-suited to a home with older children and a family that understands his need for low-impact exercise. That means leisurely walks and relaxed playtime, but no long runs, agility sports, or high-impact games like fetch.
My personality traits
- Calm & Affectionate – Loves being near his people, whether lying next to you while you work or watching from a cozy spot while you cook.
- Gentle but Playful – Generally calm, though he gets the occasional zoomies!
- Crate Trained – Very calm in a crate and happy to relax while you go about your day.
- Low-Damage Chewer – Doesn’t generally chew items that aren’t meant for him but will destroy soft toys and bedding if left unsupervised.
- Mischievous Tendencies – Occasionally digs in the garden, and while he’s curious about countersurfing (he’s tall!), he hasn’t actually done it.
- Dog Social – Can get a bit boisterous when playing with other dogs but is overall well-mannered.
Griffin’s adoption fee has been reduced to reflect his ongoing management needs. If you’re looking for a devoted and loving companion who will always be by your side, Griffin could be the perfect match for you!
