About Freckles

Freckles is a bright, energetic, and affectionate young dog who’s always ready to learn, play, and explore. She’s incredibly intelligent, food-motivated, and loves being part of the action. Whether it’s learning a new trick, playing tug, or heading out for an adventure, Freckles brings her signature blend of enthusiasm, curiosity, and charm to everything she does.

She’s currently thriving in a home that offers structure, stimulation, and lots of love. Her training is progressing well, and she’s learning how to better settle in stimulating outdoor settings. Freckles has a moderate drive and can get excitable, especially in environments with lots of dogs, but she walks beautifully on a flat collar in her local area and responds well with consistent guidance.

Where I grew up

Freckles was raised in a home with two male adults in their twenties—one working from home, the other commuting to the city. She’s had exposure to a range of environments, including a high-traffic open-plan office with over 200 employees and a quieter CBD office with a small team. She's done incredibly well in these busy, stimulating environments, learning to observe calmly while staying settled.

A good fit for me is...

Freckles will thrive in an active home that can offer her both physical and mental stimulation. She would do best with:

  • A backyard to explore and play in
  • A home with another playful dog to help burn energy and model good behaviour
  • Owners who are committed to continuing her training and enjoy involving their dog in everyday life
  • A family or individual who enjoys adventures, dog sports, training, or regular park outings
  • A busy household where there's plenty going on—she loves activity and doesn’t do well in low-stimulation settings
  • Kids or cats in the home are fine—Freckles is social and affectionate with both

Freckles has separation anxiety tendencies but can be left alone for short periods (up to an hour). She settles well in her crate and loves to be near her people

My personality traits

  • Eager to please: Smart, responsive, and food-motivated
  • Adventurous: Loves outings, agility courses, and sniffing new trails
  • Playful: Gets along well with both people and dogs—always up for a game
  • Affectionate: Enjoys cuddles and will happily follow you around the house
  • Clever and quick to learn: Especially enjoys spinning, tricks, and recall games
  • Alert and aware: She may bark when someone’s at the door or when she hears unfamiliar noises, but she settles quickly
  • Silly and fun: Known to sleep sitting upright and chew the corners of toys until the fluff escapes

Training notes

  • Moderate drive with bursts of high energy and excitement
  • Can lunge on lead in high-dog-density areas but improving with training
  • Chews soft toys and enjoys a good garden dig when left unattended
  • Alert barks occasionally and may whine to go outside
  • Doesn’t like showers, has some noise sensitivity (recovers quickly)
  • Will dig, sniff counters (but not jump), and may chew on things left on the floor
  • Settles beautifully in her crate and knows to go there on command
  • Needs continued work on recall in high-distraction environments
