About Ulesi
Ulesi is a gentle, affectionate boy with a calm and easy-going nature. He’s happiest when spending time with his people — whether that’s relaxing by your side, joining you for a walk, or tagging along on your daily routine.
While Ulesi isn’t continuing in the Seeing Eye Dogs training program due to his fear of vehicles and travelators/escalators, he has all the makings of a wonderful family companion. He’s sweet, dependable, and has lovely home manners.
He can be a little tentative about getting into unfamiliar cars or buses, but with patience and consistency, he’s happy to travel in a familiar car and enjoys outings once he knows what to expect.
Where I grew up
Ulesi grew up in a suburban family home with two adults and two primary school–aged children. It was a busy, active household — full of play, love, and routine — and he took it all in stride.
He also accompanied his carer to work in a variety of office settings, including university and city workplaces. He travelled confidently by train and settled beautifully under a desk or on a tether during the day. Ulesi quickly learned routines and loved lunchtime walks and exploring familiar routes with his carer.
A good fit for me is...
Ulesi would thrive in a calm, structured home with a predictable routine. He enjoys company and would suit someone who works from home or is around during the day. He’s social and affectionate, so he’ll love being part of family life and included in activities.
Because of his hesitation with vehicles, he’ll do best in a home that doesn’t rely heavily on car travel or where short, familiar trips can be built up gradually. He’s comfortable in suburban environments and enjoys gentle walks and time outdoors.
He’s good with children and would be a wonderful addition to a family with school-aged kids who can share in playtime and cuddles.
