About Gideon
Gideon is a handsome, affectionate boy who loves being close to his people and soaking up attention from those he trusts. He’s gentle, loving, and happiest when he feels safe and understood.
Gideon isn’t continuing in the Seeing Eye Dogs program as he found aspects of training and meeting new people quite overwhelming. He’s looking for a calm, experienced home where he can enjoy a quieter life, surrounded by people who can give him structure, support, and patience as he continues to build confidence.
Where I grew up
Gideon grew up in a family home with two adults, one older child, and another pet dog. He enjoys company, and settles beautifully in the home environment.
He’s a gentle boy who loves cuddles and affection from his humans. With a morning or evening walk, he’s relaxed and content indoors, happy to snooze the day away or rest at your feet.

Gideon is best suited to a quiet, adult-only household with experienced dog owners who are happy for him to live a calmer lifestyle. He won’t be the kind of dog who wants to go everywhere — he’ll need owners who are selective about his outings and can read when he’s feeling unsure.
He would benefit from living with another calm, mature dog who can offer companionship and help him feel secure. However, he’s not suitable to live with very young or high-energy dogs, as they can make him uncomfortable. A matching walk or introduction before adoption will be essential to ensure compatibility.
He can be frightened by small dogs, strollers, and very young children, so a household without kids and with a steady daily routine will be ideal.
Gideon’s new family will also receive initial training support from Seeing Eye Dogs to assist with his transition and continued development.
