About Yali

Yali is a sweet, curious and loving young dog who is looking for a calm, understanding forever home. She has been released from the Seeing Eye Dogs program due to significant sensitivity to wearing equipment, including harnesses and head collars, and would benefit from a lifestyle that does not rely on these tools.
Yali has a gentle nature, enjoys being close to her people, and makes a wonderful companion. She has shown she is adaptable and easy to live with, with strong house manners and a relaxed approach to day-to-day life.

Where I grew up

I grew up in a busy but structured home, living in a townhouse with a consistent routine and an active household. I learned to settle well indoors, sleep independently, and move between environments comfortably, including spending time across two homes early in life.
I’m used to daily walks, quiet rest time during the day, and being part of a household where people are around and engaged with me.

A good fit for me is...

My ideal home will provide:
A calm, supportive environment with people who enjoy having a companion close by
A home that understands and can manage my sensitivity to harnesses and similar equipment
Minimal need for stairs, or support to build confidence, as I can be worried about open stairs when going down
A routine that includes regular exercise, enrichment, and downtime
People who are home more often or able to support me as I can be a little attached and may whine when I cannot see you
Yali has a strong sensitivity to harnesses and head collars, which has impacted her progression in the program. This will need ongoing management and consideration when planning her exercise and handling.
She is toilet trained, prefers to toilet on grass, and can toilet on cue in different environments.
She enjoys her walks, sniffing, and getting out for regular activity, but also values downtime and rest at home.
I could suit a range of households, but thoughtful management of my sensitivities and environment will be important for my long term comfort and wellbeing.

My personality traits

Affectionate and people-focused – I love being near my humans and enjoy cuddles when invited
Curious and bold – I like to explore and take in my environment
Independent – I can settle well and rest during the day
Sweet-natured – I have been described as a joy to be around with a lovely temperament
Well mannered at home – I settle easily, respect boundaries, and have strong house training
I can be a little excited when meeting people and may jump up at times, but I am generally responsive and able to settle.
