About Jindy

Jindy is a very sweet, very loving dog. Some would call her a velcro dog, but mostly when you are nearby. She enjoys being close and is very motivated by affection, particularly chest rubs, which she will actively request.
She can be left alone for short periods without concern and is well behaved in the home. She may occasionally reposition your shoes, but she is not destructive.

Health – Shoulder OCD (joint condition)
Jindy has a condition called shoulder OCD, which affects how the shoulder joint developed when they were growing.
In simple terms, part of the cartilage in the joint didn’t form properly and can cause pain and stiffness, especially after activity.

What this means day to day
May be a bit stiff or slower to warm up, particularly after rest
Can have a reduced tolerance for long or high‑impact exercise
Might seem reluctant to run, jump, or play for long periods
Needs a consistent, moderate exercise routine rather than intense bursts

Long‑term outlook
Many dogs with this condition go on to live happy, comfortable pet lives
There is an increased risk of arthritis as they get older, so ongoing joint care is important
Jindy is currently coming out of recovery following shoulder surgery for OCD. She has completed a significant period of rest and is nearing the end of her structured rehabilitation plan. While she is doing well, she is still rebuilding her strength and may fatigue more quickly after activity.
This is a managed physical condition, not a behaviour issue.
With the right home and lifestyle, this dog can still enjoy a full and rewarding life.
She has also had some mild urinary urgency in the past, which has been investigated and is currently stable, but may need occasional monitoring.

Additional support
As part of the adoption, a free telehealth consultation with the SED veterinary team will be offered prior to the adoption meeting. This is an opportunity to:
Talk through the condition in more detail
Understand what to expect long term
Ask any questions and feel confident moving forward
Due to Jindy's health condition, her adoption fee has been reduced.

Where I grew up

Jindy has lived in a townhouse with a single female and another dog. She is used to a routine that includes time at home, in the office, and travelling in a vehicle.
She has travelled extensively, including staying in various accommodation settings and going camping, and settles well in new environments.

A good fit for me is...

Jindy would suit an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle that can be adapted to her current physical needs.

She will require:
A gradual return to longer walks and higher activity
An adopter who can monitor her comfort and manage exercise levels
Ongoing awareness of her recovery, including allowing for rest after activity
Jindy may experience occasional lameness or stiffness, particularly if overexerted. This can be managed with appropriate exercise and lifestyle support.

She is best suited to:
Regular, low‑impact exercise (walks, enrichment, gentle play)
Avoiding repetitive high‑impact activities (e.g. jumping, rough play, high‑intensity running)
Owners who are comfortable monitoring mobility and comfort over time
Maintaining a healthy weight to support joint health
Homes without very young children or elderly individuals, as she can jump and actively seek attention
Someone who enjoys an affectionate and interactive dog
A home that can provide both mental stimulation and structure
She would thrive in a home where her love of people is welcomed, while also setting clear boundaries around attention-seeking behaviours.

My personality traits

Jindy is an affectionate, easy-going dog who enjoys both relaxing and getting out and about. She can entertain herself when needed, but if you are available, she will happily seek out attention.
She is intelligent and will quickly learn how to get what she wants, so continued engagement and guidance will support her to settle well.
Jindy brings a lot of fun and personality. She is social, confident, and friendly with people and other animals, sometimes even when they are not as enthusiastic.
