About Laksa

Laksa is a very lovable, sweet goofball with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s affectionate with his people, quick to learn, and absolutely adores his toys. Whether he’s zooming around in a burst of silliness or curled up beside you soaking up belly rubs, Laksa is full of joy and character.
He’s a dog who thrives when he has clear boundaries, opportunities to release his energy, and gentle guidance. Once those needs are met, he settles beautifully and is quiet, respectful, and wonderfully companionable around the home.

Where I grew up

Laksa grew up in a busy, loving foster home where he lived alongside two other dogs and a cat. He’s used to sharing space and enjoys the company of another playful dog, especially one who can match his energy and help keep play fun. At times, Laksa can get a little too silly during play and benefits from a human stepping in to help him slow down and reset.
He’s comfortable using a crate and often chooses to take himself off to a dog bed or quiet space when it’s time for a nap — usually after some play, toys, or a good run.

A good fit for me is...

Laksa is best suited to a home with:
Teenagers or older children — his occasional zoomies and enthusiasm could accidentally knock over little ones
Clear routines and boundaries, which help him thrive
Time for play and engagement, balanced with support to settle
Another friendly, playful dog (optional but loved!)
Laksa has an ongoing skin condition that requires regular veterinary management. Despite careful treatment during training, this condition hasn’t fully resolved, and for this reason he isn’t suitable for the demands of life as a working guide dog. He will do best with adopters who are comfortable continuing vet care and following an agreed management plan, with ongoing support from our team.
Laksa's adoption fee has been slightly reduced as he will likely require ongoing support with his skin.

My personality traits

Affectionate and people-focused
Playful, goofy, and entertaining
Loves toys (especially rolling onto his back holding one in his paws!)
Quick learner who responds well to reminders and guidance
Can be fidgety or strong on lead at times, but settles with consistency
Sweet, snuggly, and very lovable once his energy is out
