About Gus

Gus is a much‑loved, sweet‑natured boy who has grown up in the Seeing Eye Dogs Puppy Development program. He has had a fantastic start to life, spending time both in a family home and regularly attending a busy workplace. Gus is known for being calm indoors, affectionate with his people, and a joy to have around.
He is incredibly well settled in the home, enjoys routine, and is happy to relax at your feet while you work. Gus has great experience navigating public spaces, including lifts, offices, and busy environments, and takes new situations in stride.

Where I grew up

Gus was raised in a family home as part of the Seeing Eye Dogs Puppy Development program. He has lived with adults and teenagers and has experience in a structured household environment. He has also regularly attended a large workplace from a young age, where he settled beautifully and was adored by staff.
This broad upbringing has helped Gus become a confident, adaptable dog who is comfortable in both home and public settings.

A good fit for me is...

Gus will make a lovely pet for the right home.
He is best suited to:

  • An adopter or family who can confidently manage a strong, enthusiastic dog on lead
  • Someone who enjoys daily walks and is comfortable continuing positive lead manners and boundaries
  • A home that understands dog‑to‑dog excitement and can support him calmly around other dogs
  • People who value a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys being part of everyday life
  • Gus has a strong dog distraction and can become very interested and excited around other dogs, which may feel strong on the lead. With calm handling and consistent guidance, this is very manageable, and Gus responds well to clear expectations.

My personality traits

  • Affectionate, gentle, and very people‑oriented
  • Calm and relaxed indoors
  • Social and friendly, especially with people and other dogs
  • Confident in new environments
  • A “shadow dog” who loves being close to his humans
  • Gus takes his cues from those around him. When people and dogs are calm, he settles easily and walks along nicely. When energy levels increase, he can become excited and keen to say hello.
