About Jester
Jester is a placid dog who will happily sleep most of the day, balanced with bursts of playful energy. He absolutely loves games like fetch and hide-and-seek with his toys. Once he gets going, he never wants to stop—so it’s important to monitor playtime, as he will get puffed but won’t self-regulate.
He doesn’t cope well with heat or long-distance walks and pants heavily if overexerted. His usual walk is around 45 minutes, best done early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler. On walks, he enjoys sniffing and exploring his environment.
Jester has a sensitive stomach, so treats should be limited to his regular kibble, with any extras given only in very small amounts. He has reliable toileting habits, typically doing two poos a day—one on waking and another a few hours later.
Where I grew up
Jester grew up in a household with one adult male and is very accustomed to a calm, indoor lifestyle.
A good fit for me is...
Jester would suit someone who enjoys having their dog indoors and close by, as he truly loves company and connection. A calm home where his exercise and play can be managed thoughtfully would be ideal. He would do best with someone patient, attentive, and happy to guide him through distractions while appreciating his loving, playful nature.
My personality traits
Jester is playful, excitable, and easily distracted. He can be slow to return to a productive or focused state once distracted and may need regular handler guidance—especially in areas where other dogs have been, such as garden beds or walking paths. He can become quickly activated and may take time to refocus.
Despite this, he is gentle and affectionate, loves being brushed, and really enjoys having his chin and shoulders rubbed. He greets people with enthusiasm and excitement, settling once the initial greeting passes.
Jester has recently shown interest in chewing paper, and like many young dogs, may chew socks or items left on the floor, so a tidy environment is important.
