About Gloria
Gloria is a sweet, eager-to-please young dog who is now looking for her forever family. She is no longer continuing in the SED program, as she showed some resource guarding and redirected toward other dogs at times. She can also become concerned or activated when barked at by other dogs, even from a distance.
Despite these challenges, Gloria is highly motivated to learn, incredibly affectionate, and thrives when she feels connected to her people. She walks beautifully on-leash, offers reliable sit, stay, and down cues, and adores cuddles. She has a soft nature and will flourish in a calm, understanding home.
Where I grew up
Gloria was raised in a lively country-town household with four adults. The home was active, noisy, and full of love. She lived comfortably alongside two older ex-SED dogs (a 10-year-old Lab and an 8-year-old Lab X), as well as two Maine Coon cats. She showed some alert barking in the home and preferred not to sleep in a crate overnight while in her carer’s home.
A good fit for me is...
Gloria will thrive with someone who:
- Enjoys daily walks and outdoor time
- Loves giving (and receiving!) cuddles
- Is soft-natured, patient, and supportive
- Can help guide her when she feels unsure around unfamiliar dogs or unusual objects (like Halloween decorations or inflatables)
- Understands her occasional stubborn or cheeky streak
- Can maintain consistent routines and gentle training
- She would do best in a home that can provide reassurance, clear boundaries, and plenty of affection.
- Gloria would do best as the only dog in the household due to her nature to resource guard
