Breeder caring

Breeder caring involves caring for adult dogs full time usually from around 12 months of age, until the end of their breeding career. Can depend on the Stud dog (male) or brood bitch (female) and could be for approximately a number of months up to a number of years.

Breeder carers are responsible for coming to Seeing Eye Dogs kennels in Kensington, Vic for all equipment pick-ups, transporting the dogs to kennels for all breeding related activities as well as coming to kennels or other locations like shopping centres for training visits between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Seeing Eye Dogs preferences applicants who have prior dog-handling experience. If accepted into the breeder caring program, it can take up to 12 months or more to be placed with a dog.
