We’ve had a wonderful 2018 here at Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs, and we just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all of the support you have given to us this year.
Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs will be shutting down over the holiday period. Friday December 21st will be our final day at full capacity, and we will return on Monday January 7th.
During this shutdown time we will have a skeleton crew in operation. We will always have a staff member manning our phone but, if it is a medical emergency, please visit your local veterinarian immediately.

Be extra careful during the festive season
Foods: This season can pose extra dangers for our dogs and pups so please be vigilant and make sure you keep an eye on what they are up to. Foods that might not be seen at other times of the year can be very bad for pups if ingested such as chocolate and fruit cake. Christmas decorations, toys and batteries can also be a temptation.
Make sure you monitor your dog and your pup and know where they are and what they are up to if you have family staying at Christmas time. Keep their diet the same as normal to avoid upset stomachs.
Warmer weather: Although the warmer weather may be your cup of tea, please remember that our four-legged friends can overheat and quickly dehydrate. Below is a video detailing what to keep an eye out for to prevent your dog from getting heatstroke.
If you require food for a SED Puppy
Hopefully you have enough to last through till January however if you do run out you can arrange to collect some from Seeing Eye Dog kennels at 17 Barrett St Kensington. Please call the Kennels in advance.
If your SED comes into season or is ready to give birth
They will need to come to kennels. Please call the Kennels and organise to bring them.
We wish our entire Seeing Eye Dogs family a safe and happy holiday period, and look forward to venturing into 2019 with you all.
